We can often get caught up in day-to-day issues and tasks, and sometimes we can forget where we have come from. As we fast approach the end of 2022, the team at Wakefield Acoustics have sat down to reflect on what we have achieved since the start of the year, and here are our highlights:
- Record order intake
For our financial year 2021-2022, we achieved our highest ever order intake, 40% higher than our previous highest total, and 130% above last year. This was a great achievement, and a trend that looks to be continuing into 2023
- Employee numbers
As we started to come out of lockdowns at the turn of the year, headcount within the factory began to grow with the increased demand, so much so that our factory workforce has increased by 35% since January. New roles have also been created in projects, engineering and operations to support and serve our clients
- Increase in useable production space
In June this year, we received the keys for our new external storage yard, which is now full with acoustic containers and attenuators. This allows options for client fit-out of equipment, assembly and storage of products prior to delivery
- Painting facility
Our new painting facility for acoustic containers has been installed and will be fully operational by the end of November, allowing fabrication and painting on-site, eliminating transport costs
- Installation Team expansion
We increased our in-house installation capacity to serve the growing demand for our products and service. With fully trained and certified installers, we can ensure our solutions are installed to the highest quality
- Awards
To cap it all off, Wakefield Acoustics were finalists in the Yorkshire Post Business Excellence awards - the first in recent years. Unfortunately, we did not win, but it was great to be recognised amongst many other thriving businesses
With so much achieved in 2022, we wait to see what the next 12 months has in store
